The Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department was called to the 800 block of Follins Lane in Southeast Vienna, where there was a reported explosion in the area of the Navy Federal Credit Union Headquarters.

Investigators say that a mechanical issue with the fire protection system resulted in the buildup of pressure, which caused “moderate damage” to several floors.

No injuries were initially reported. The building has been evacuated and is being assessed by engineers.
